Do you want to enable comment form on individual posts?
It’s very rare that people come across this issue saying that ‘Comments are closed. ‘ on posts on their WordPress blog.
Are you seeing ‘comments has been closed‘ – on only few of your blog posts and other posts are working fine?
Are you seeing that in all your new posts – comments are disabled automatically?
It might be due to several known or unknown reasons. May be because of an outdated plugin or an incompatible plugin for your version or WordPress or might be that your WordPress database got corrupt etc… There will be many reasons. But – I say, just do not panic.
Here is the solution to enable comment form back on your posts. Do as I say first – before you panic and disable all your plugins and mess up with your website.
What ever shall be the problem. What you need is to have the comments enabled on your blog post. That’s it.
So here we go and enable comment form:
1. Go to Posts -> All Posts
2. All the posts will be listed out. Use your mouse and hover on the post which you want to enable comments form – there you will see a link ‘Quick edit‘ highlighted in the below screenshot..
3. Click on Quick edit. Now, towards the extreme right-bottom – you will see ‘Comments‘ and a ‘check box‘. See below screenshot.
4. Check the check box there and click on the update button.
Now, go to the website front-end and refresh the post and you should see the comment form enabled on the same post where previously comment form was disabled and where you saw the message ‘Comments are closed‘.
